• Nord’s successor, OnePlus Nord 2 arrived; Features and price included

    The Nord 2 is the first OnePlus phone to be sold with a MediaTek processor instead of the Snapdragon processor. The OnePlus Nord 2 is priced from Rs 27,999 to Rs 34,999.

    The Chinese smartphone brand OnePlus, which competes with premium smartphones like Apple’s iPhones, launched Nord in June last year as their first low-cost smartphone. Priced from Rs 24,999, OnePlus has decided to grow Nord into a range with a good response. Recently, an affordable phone called the Nord CE came just below the Nord. Meanwhile, OnePlus has launched the Nord 2, the successor to the one-year-old Nord 2. The Nord 2 is a comprehensive upgrade of the Nord 2. The price range for the OnePlus Nord 2 starts at Rs 27,999.

    • 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage – Rs 27,999 (Blue Hayes)
    • 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage – Rs 29,999 (Blue House, Gray Sierra)
    • 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage – Rs 34,999 (Blue Hayes, Gray Sierra, Greenwoods)

    Sales of the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage version and the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage version (excluding the Greenwoods colour) will start from the 28th of this month. Meanwhile, OnePlus Red Cable Club members and Amazon Prime members can purchase the OnePlus Nord 2 from the 26th of this month. Sales of the basic 6GB RAM + 128GB storage version and the 12GB version of the Green Woods colour will start in August.

    Last year’s Nord had a 6.44-inch Full HD + (1,080×2,400 pixels) Fluid AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, while the Nord 2 had a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and HDR 10+ certification. The display has a 20: 9 aspect ratio, 2400 × 1080-pixel resolution and 410ppi pixel density.

    Processor – The Nord 2 is the first OnePlus phone to be marketed with a MediaTek processor instead of the Snapdragon processor.

    Operating System – Oxygen OS 11 based on Android 11 is the operating system of Nord 2. The OnePlus Nord 2 comes with two major Android OS updates and three-year security updates.

    The 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 primary sensor on the Nord has been replaced by the 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary sensor on the Nord 2. The sensor incorporates an Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) feature to capture more accurate images and videos. The rest of the triple rear camera has an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens (119.7-degree field of view) and a 2-megapixel mono lens. The OnePlus Nord 2 also has a 32-megapixel selfie camera.

    Battery – The OnePlus Nord 2 supports 65 W warp charging and comes with a 4,500mAh dual-cell battery. OnePlus claims that it can charge the battery to run the phone all day in just 15 minutes.

    Connectivity – Connectivity options on the phone are 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth V5.5, GPS / A-GPS / Navig, NFC and USB Type-C port.
