Disney + Hotstar India has introduced new subscription plans to increase the number of its users. There are new plans which unveils at a good virtual event yesterday. It also launches 18 new Hotstar special series and Disney + Hotstar multiplex movies. Apart from this, the premium and VIP categories that existed till now will no longer exist.
The company has announced that from now on all content on Disney + Hotstar will be available with all plans and though, TV shows and movies from Disney + originals and Hollywood movies from Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, HBO, FX, Showtime, 20th Century, and Searchlight Pictures were previously only available at the Disney + Hotstar premium. Now it is available to everyone. Disney + Hotstar VIP will no longer exist.
Disney + Hotstar three new plans will be available to users from September 1st. The “Mobile” plan is priced at Rs 499 per year. The “Super” plan costs Rs 899 per year and the “Premium” plan costs Rs 1,499 per year. There is no change except that people who already have a Disney + Hotstar premium can stream on four devices simultaneously when opting for the new premium plan. Earlier it was two devices. Only premium users can stream in 4K resolution. Super Video HD quality and streaming on both devices simultaneously.

The Disney + Hotstar mobile plan is similar to Netflix’s mobile plan. This will limit your account to one mobile only but also get HD video quality. Content to Disney + Hotstar Super and Disney + Hotstar Premium access to content from all types of devices. With super and premium plans, you can stream content on PC, mobile and Living Smart TV.
In his statement, Sunil Ryan, Head and President of Disney + Hotstar, said, “The content of Disney Plus Hotstar is the result of our constant efforts to bring original and locally relevant stories to our customers.”
Sunil Ryan added that with the newly introduced subscription plans, the company is offering better quality entertainment and giving our viewers more comfort and options. Disney Plus Hotstar’s attempt to gain more users in India by launching new plans has backfired on Netflix and Amazon Prime.
