• Gaganyaan: ISRO says it has successfully completed the third test of the engine

    The ISRO said the engine had achieved the expected success. Gaganyaan is India’s space dream project. The project aims to accommodate three astronauts in space for seven days.

    ISRO says it has successfully completed a long hot test of the Vikas engine as part of the Gaganyan project. The test, which lasted 240 seconds, took place in Mahendragiri, Tamil Nadu. The liquid propellant Vikas engine of the GSLV MK III was tested. The ISRO said the engine had achieved the expected success.

    Gaganyan is India’s space dream project. The project aims to accommodate three astronauts in space for seven days. The plan is to make the project a reality by August 2022. The plan was to make the project a reality in December this year, but Kovid was delayed following the crisis.

    If the project materializes, India will become the fourth country to launch a man into space after the US, Russia and China. The project is expected to cost Rs 10,000 crore.
