In July 2015, American tech giant Microsoft introduced Windows 10, the operating system for desktops and laptops. With the release of Windows 11 after a gap of 6 years, Microsoft is challenging the MacOS and ChromeOS operating systems. Windows 11 comes with a handful of feature upgrades.

The major change in Windows 11 is the updated interface. In Windows 10, all menus and windows have sharp corners while in Windows 11, they have rounded corners. This change does not affect performance, but it does enhance the interface visually.

Another new feature is the Start menu, which is arranged in the centre of the screen. Since the introduction of Windows NT 4.0 in 1996, the Start menu has been configured on the left. But the midpoint is similar to that of MacOS and ChromeOS operating systems. Icons for Edge and File Explorer have also been moved to the centre. At the same time, you can change the settings to the left or right of the screen.

Windows 11 does not have the live tiles displayed in Windows 10’s Start menu. Instead, some apps that are relevant to the customer will be displayed at the bottom of the Start menu, called Recommended Apps. Windows 11 is a different sound for alerts, including the sound of a new startup. Windows 11 also includes new themes, new wallpapers, and a better dark mode.

Widgets are displayed by swiping from the left side of the screen. There is also a facility to rearrange or resize widgets according to customer preferences.

For a better multitasking experience for those who do multiple tasks at the same time, the active screens between multiple areas of the desktop are allowed via the Divide Maximize button. Microsoft calls this new feature Snap Layouts.

Microsoft’s own Teams app is integrated directly into Windows 11. The Microsoft Teams app is a messaging and video calling app configured on the taskbar.

The good news for gaming fans on Windows 11 is the inclusion of the Auto HDR feature from Microsoft’s Xbox Series consoles. This will enable HDR output even from games that do not feature HDR. XCloud integration and Xbox game pass access are provided for cloud gaming.

Updated the store app in 11. The UI has been modified to allow loading and faster operation. But the most notable thing is the support for the Android app. Existing Android applications will be available through the Microsoft Store in partnership with Amazon and Intel and will be available to Windows 11 customers.

Only a handful of people will have Windows 11 available in the first phase for testing purposes. At the same time, Microsoft has announced that Windows 10 customers will be able to upgrade to Windows 11 for free by the end of this year. PCs running Windows 7 and Windows 8 will soon be upgraded.

Windows 11 requires at least a 64-bit x86 or ARM processor, 4 GB of RAM, and 64 GB of storage. At the same time, Windows 10 only had 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. This confirms that it will be a Windows 11 heavy file.
