• This Indian employee left his WhatsApp job and created HalloApp to compete with Facebook!

Neeraj Arora, the former Global Business Head of WhatsApp says, unlike the traditional social media platforms, this app comes with no ads, bots, likes and followers and he creates HalloApp, which is an ad-free, private social network and app that touts as a “real-relationship network” that allows users having a real-life interaction with their contacts. Also, Arora with the collaboration of his former WhatsApp colleague Michael Donohue develops HalloApps and both were among the early employees of the instant messaging app that Facebook bought in 2014 and interestingly, HalloApp has many features making it a close competitor of not only with WhatsApp but also with Facebook.

Arora provided an announcement with the launch of HalloApp on Twitter and he says that unlike the traditional social media platform [Facebook] his app comes with no ads, bots, likes, and followers with only prompting you to come online to your real friends.

HalloApp tries connecting your phone address book where it accesses you with people who is available on your network and, however, Arora thus clearly states on the company’s blog where the platform does not collect, store or use any kind of personal information of its users. Also to note the fact is that he emphasized that the chats on this app will be end-to-end encrypted.

Unlike Facebook and other similar social media platforms, HalloApp does not use algorithms or even show any kind of ads; however, Arora indicates plans which brings in a membership-based model that does offer additional features in the future.

Both Apple’s App Store and Google Play Store, HalloApp is available for download. However, it does not have any current web access such as Facebook or WhatsApp.

HalloApp has the same experience which you will find on Facebook and WhatsApp, as it allows users to stay connected and with only close friends and family whose numbers are saved in the phone’s contact book. Also, one can have individual chats or group chats and post pictures as status.
