    Senior advocate Harish Salve, who appeared for WhatsApp, told the court that the message is asking for policy approval and sends it continuously. The single bench of the high court had earlier rejected the petition seeking the stay of the probe announced by the Competition Commission against the privacy policy. Harish Salve clarified the position of WhatsApp during the argument of the petition filed by WhatsApp and Facebook questioning this. Mukul Rohtagi, who appeared for Facebook, made a similar argument.

    There are critics with regards to violation of privacy and shares information on WhatsApp to Facebook. Meanwhile, there is a petition which seeks consideration of all IT policy cases in the Supreme Court and hears it on July 16. Thus the central government approaches Supreme Court for this.
