Google really took advantage of Tiktok’s ban in India. It is also noted that according to Google, YouTube Shorts, the first short video app launched in India last year after the Tiktok ban, is getting more than 150 crore views per day. This was revealed by CEO Sundar Pichai. The performance was by YouTube Shorts and with this, Google prepares to launch YouTube shorts in more than 100 countries around the world where YouTube is available.
The app is still in its beta version. The feature of adding audio from YouTube videos is now available for those who put a video in shorts and also it has features for linking to YouTube videos taken with audio samples from shorts.
As of March, the popular YouTube shorts received 650 million views and at the end of 2020, it was Rs 350 crore. The first YouTube shorts app was launched in India in September last year.
In the June quarter, YouTube’s ad revenue reached $ 7 billion. Advertising revenue was $ 3.8 billion during the same period last year and estimates that YouTube continues to make huge strides in online video streaming with over 200 million monthly active users per month.
