Realme has now become the second-largest smartphone brand in India. A recent market survey by Counterpoint Research revealed that Realme beat Samsung to capture 17 percent of the market share in the fourth quarter of 2021. This is just 1 per cent ahead of Samsung’s 16 per cent stake, but it is a big deal for Realme, which has now become one of the most aggressive smartphone brands. Realme is now closer to Xiaomi, which still dominates the market with a share of 24 percent in the last quarter.
Both Realme and Xiaomi are the jugglers of the sale. While Realme started the company a little more than three years ago, Xiaomi is much older and has made a mark in India’s smartphone market. In this way Xiaomi has overtaken Samsung from the top position in the market and has maintained its position. Xiaomi may have overtaken Samsung four years ago and continues to do so, but it is difficult to say when Realme will overtake Xiaomi.
